Summary

Quarterback Rank: #50
Overall: #274

Hill had just three pass attempts in two games after starting much of the season the previous year. But Matthew Stafford finally made it through the season healthy, keeping Hill on the bench. Hill remains the consummate backup, though. Hill has completed 62 percent of his passes for his career and has an 84.7 passer rating. Hill has shown he can move an offense if given the chance to start. He should continue to be a top backup. Hill doesn't have a great arm, but is accurate and does a good job of hitting his receivers in stride. He knows his abilities and makes the most of them. He will force some throws and is just so-so with the deep ball, though.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Hill can help if starting. He isn't draft material but worth a pickup on waivers if he finds his way into the starting lineup because of injury. He has big-game potential and been helpful to fantasy teams in past seasons.

Fantasy Impact: Hill would be the starter if Stafford can't play but it is looking pretty good for Stafford to play right now.

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (ankle) was in a helmet and shoulder pads Wednesday, Oct. 26, but he didn't take any first-team repetitions in the early portion of practice. He stretched, jogged and did some light throwing. QB Shaun Hill took all of the first-team reps. Stafford has yet to be ruled out for Week 8 against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Impact: We'll know more later in the week but consider Hill a pretty good bet to start at the moment.
