Brady had another huge season. It wasn't his best as a pro but right up there with the rest of his best seasons. He actually did something he had never done before, throw for 5,000 yards. Brady completed an impressive 66 percent of his passes and had 42 total touchdowns to just 12 interceptions. Brady had an amazing 11 300-yard games this season and touchdowns in every game. He had multiple touchdowns in all but one game, a Week 5 matchup against the Jets. In the last two seasons, Brady has 79 total touchdowns to just 16 interceptions. He takes care of the ball as well as any quarterback in the game right now. Brady has four 4,000-yard seasons for his career and 30-plus scores three of the last four full seasons. The Patriots remain a pass-first team with Brady at the helm. He does a great job of distributing the ball to all his options and rarely turns the ball over. He has a strong arm and is extremely accurate. Brady knows the offense well and makes the most of his abilities.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

The numbers don't lie. Brady is an elite fantasy quarterback. You can make a strong case for him to be the top quarterback this season, especially with the emerging talents at tight end. You can pencil Brady in for about 5,000 yards and 30-plus touchdowns. His consistency makes him a very safe fantasy quarterback. We have no problem with Brady being taken first overall at the quarterback spot. He is worthy of that spot.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady restructured his contract to create $7.2 million in salary cap room, a league source confirmed. Brady's four-year, $72 million contract was restructured last week as he reduced his base salary from $5.75 million and scheduled $6 million roster bonus to a fully guaranteed $950,000 for 2012 as the Patriots gave him a $10.8 million bonus. The $6 million roster bonus and the remaining $4.8 million were combined to come up with the bonus amount. The salary cap figure for 2012 is now $8 million, down from $15.2 million.

Jacobs said he should respect New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's wife. 'Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that,' Jacobs said. Former New England Patriots SS Rodney Harrison, now an analyst for NBC, doesn't believe the heat QB Tom Brady is taking in New England and elsewhere following Super Bowl XLVI is justified. 'I don't think it's fair,' Harrison said. 'I think it ultimately comes down to 'team.' A lot of times, quarterbacks, as well as coaches, they get too much credit sometimes. But I don't think Tom should take the heat. He had opportunities to make some plays, and he did. Some guys dropped some balls, that's all part of football. They had opportunities. But I think it's just the media's way of saying, 'Finally, we get a chance to say something negative about him. Finally, we get a chance to torch him.''

The wife of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was critical of the team's receivers, who dropped passes late in Super Bowl XLVI. While making her way toward the elevator following the game, New York Giants fans were harassing Bundchen, yelling, 'Eli rules, Eli owns your husband.' She replied, 'You (need) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times.'

Fantasy Impact: Probably not a great move on his wife's part but the super model probably can get away with it.

On the final play of Super Bowl XLVI, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's Hail Mary pass reached the end zone, where TE Aaron Hernandez had a chance at catching it cleanly, and TE Rob Gronkowski nearly grabbed it off the deflection. Gronkowski said following the game he had a chance of making the play. 'It was just a jump ball,' Gronkowski said. 'Aaron did a good job going up there and we almost had it, but almost isn't enough.'
