Pennington sat out last season after tearing his ACL during the offseason in a pick-up basketball game. He should be healthy enough to play in 2012 but isn't guaranteed a job after playing four games the last three seasons because of major injuries. Pennington has endured several injuries to this shoulder, which is a huge concern at age 36. Pennington is a very accurate passers in the game. He has completed 66 percent of his passes for his career. Pennington knows his limitations and makes the most of his ability. He reads defenses well and fits the ball in tight spaces. If healthy, Pennington can help as a backup, but his health is a huge concern right now.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Pennington is a long shot to play at all this season. And even if he gets work, he'll likely be a backup, bring little value to fantasy teams.

Pennington said he is not sure if that is an optimistic timetable but is working to accomplish it. He has a brace on his knee but is able to walk without any crutches. He said his rehab should not be very challenging because it was a clean tear.
