Hasselbeck got off to a great start his first season with the Titans but faded a little the second half of the season. He had some big games, though. Hasselbeck had three 300-yard games and five multiple touchdown games. His yardage total was the third highest total of his career (3,571). He was a little turnover prone, though, throwing 14 interceptions. He averages 16 interceptions per season the last three years. He isn't guaranteed the starting gig in 2012 with Jake Locker ready to take over. Hasselbeck probably has another year or two left as a starter at age 37 but seems destined for backup duty this season. Hasselbeck never had a huge arm, but has above-average accuracy and does a good job of managing the offense. He has been injury prone the last few seasons but managed to play every game last year.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Hasselbeck might be worth some spot starts for fantasy teams if he finds his way in the starting lineup but that is about it. He could be worth a late-round flier in deeper leagues but don't expect much in a backup role.

Tennessee Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck will be on a short leash with the team this upcoming season. In fact, QB Jake Locker may very well beat out Hasselbeck in training camp for the team's starting quarterback job.

Fantasy Impact: Locker is our favorite to start but he won't be handed the job.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the team will have an open competition at quarterback between QBs Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker. 'It wouldn't be fair to tell Jake Locker he wouldn't have an opportunity to play next year, that he was going to sit for another season,' Munchak said. 'I don't think Matt would want to hear that either. I think they are both competitive in that way. I think when the time comes, just like it was this past year, that Matt was the guy that was most ready to help us win, I think the same decision will be made next year.'

Fantasy Impact: Locker should have been the starter much of this season. It would be a surprise if he wasn't the starter from day one in 2012.
