Todman didn't get in a game his rookie season. The Vikings signed him off the Chargers practice squad during the year. He'll compete for a depth role with the Vikings this season. Todman is a small back, but has top speed and good moves in space. He still needs some work as a receiver, but has the makeup to do well in a third-down back role. Even if he doesn't get much work as a running back this season, Todman could be a top return man on special teams if he gets the chances.

Todman needs to actually do something on an NFL field before you can use a roster spot on him.

San Diego Chargers rookie RB Jordan Todman plans to head to California soon with plans to join the team when the NFL lockout ends. Todman spent some time in San Diego after being drafted, meeting with some of the team's players. 'It was a chance for me to pick their mind and get some of the terminology down,' he said. 'We can't get the playbook yet, but at least it gave me a chance to get to know some of the guys.' If things go well for Todman, he could have a shot at being a change-of-pace back behind RB Ryan Mathews. Todman realizes he won't be handed anything, and he noted he plans to bust his tail to find a role within the organization.

Fantasy Impact: Todman has a chance to earn a decent role with the team.
