Summary

Quarterback Rank: #34
Overall: #211

Tebow didn't begin the season as starter but grabbed the job early in the year and kept it all season, leading the Broncos to the playoffs. Tebow threw for just 200 yards just twice in 14 games but was like a running back at the quarterback spot. He ran for 660 yards and six touchdowns. He even had a 100-yard game as a rusher. And while he didn't throw for a ton of yards, he had 12 touchdown passes to just six interceptions. He limited turnovers and managed the offense well. Tebow really needs to improve his accuracy, though, after completing just 47 percent of his passes. If that doesn't get better, he won't remain the starter in Denver. The Broncos will go with him as their starter but he could be on a short leash if he shows any struggles. Tebow still has a long delivery and doesn't seem to read defenses well but is a playmaker. He has a knack for making the big play when needed.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Tebow is a polarizing figure but for fantasy purposes, he is a legit No. 1. He isn't an elite option but just outside that group. His running ability separates him from other fantasy quarterbacks. He could get a 1,000-rushing yards playing a full season. He is a risk because you just aren't sure if he'll start all season and if he gets shutdown running the ball, his fantasy numbers will be poor. But he has high weekly upside. Our advice is to get a solid quarterback to pair him with, platooning them on a weekly basis.

Notes

New York Jets quarterbacks coach Matt Cavanaugh has high hopes for QB Tim Tebow, and he said that Tebow 'can be very good.' 'I was pleasantly surprised when I saw him over an extended period of time ... not just watching him play on film,' Cavanaugh said. 'I think he's certainly got the arm strength. He has good mechanics. They're getting better every day.' Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano said Tebow has made 'eye-opening' progress as a passer in the last two years. Tebow could see as many as 20 snaps a game in the Wildcat formation.

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said QB Tim Tebow has looked 'outstanding' in limited drills during offseason workouts. 'Same thing with Mark (Sanchez),' Ryan said Tuesday, May 1, quickly including his starting quarterback in the conversation. 'Both those guys are in phenomenal shape.' Ryan laughed when asked what he's seen from Tebow. 'I saw enough of Tebow last year, to be honest with you,' Ryan said, referring to the Jets' crushing loss to the Denver Broncos last season - a game than ended on Tebow's 95-yard touchdown drive. 'I still see that last drive.'
New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley said QB Tim Tebow has more velocity on his passes than QB Mark Sanchez does. 'Different than Mark, different than Mark,' Kerley said. '[Tebow's] ball comes out a little bit stronger, but he's accurate, he's more accurate than what I thought he was going to be.'

Fantasy Impact: Seems really strange to use their top backup quarterback on special teams. We'll see if this sticks.
