SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #64
Overall: #343

McGee played just one game last season, but played extensively during Week 16 after Tony Romo was hurt early in the game. And McGee played well in relief of Romo, going 24-of-38 for 182 yards and a touchdown without an interception. McGee has played three games during his NFL career and has three touchdowns without an interception. He hasn't played too badly when given the chance. McGee has a chance to be the top backup from day one in Dallas for the '12 season. McGee is fairly skilled. He has a plus arm and is a good enough athlete to make plays with his feet. His accuracy needs some work, but is improving. McGee remains pretty raw from a lack of work, making his preseason and training camp very important for this coming season.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
McGee has shown promise with his work so he has a little value if forced into a starting role, which is possible. He isn't worth drafting but maybe a waiver-wire grab if forced into a starting role.

Fantasy Impact: McGee really has the makeup to be a top NFL backup. He'll be the No. 3 in Dallas this season, though.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee likely will not be given the opportunity to compete for the No. 2 quarterback during training camp because he was not able to work out in front of coaches and learn how he could improve his play.
Fantasy Impact: McGee did some good things in a starting role last season, but the Cowboys don't seem sold on him as their backup just yet.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee may have his repititions limited if there is a shortened training camp or less preseason games because of the lockout.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee went 11-for-27 for 127 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, reports The Associated Press. He also rushed for 55 yards on nine carries in the game. It was the first start of his career.
Fantasy Impact: McGee wasn't great in the game but led the Cowboys to victory and did some good things along the way. He could be a solid backup the next few seasons with the potential to start down the road.
