SUMMARY
Running Back Rank: #64
Overall: #306

Hightower had his season cut short because of a torn ACL in Week 7. He was playing well before the injury, rushing 17 times for 88 yards. Hightower had 80-plus total yards three of his six games he played. He actually was the starter many of the games he played with the Redskins. Hightower wasn't too explosive, though, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry. Hightower is expected to be ready for the start of the coming year and at age 26, Hightower still has plenty of life left in his legs. Hightower has never been a huge producer. His career high in rushing is 736. He is best suited in spot duty. Hightower is a powerful back with pretty good speed but isn't a game changer. He also is a solid receiver, giving him value in a third-down back role.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Hightower was once a dependable red-zone option but has just seven touchdowns the last two seasons after having 18 his first two years in the league. His lack of scores hurts his fantasy value. He is worth a look as a No. 4 back because he'll get some total yards and normally can be counted on for 20-plus receptions. Expect a season with around 600 total yards and a couple scores.
Washington Redskins RB Tim Hightower (knee) should enter training camp as the No. 1 running back, provided his left knee has recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Hightower provides the most all-around game of all the team's backs because of his pass-protection skills.
Fantasy Impact: We don't buy this as Roy Helu proved late last season he could start and perform at a high level. He has a lot more upside than Hightower.

Free-agent RB Tim Hightower (Redskins) (knee) visited with the New England Patriots Friday, April 20, but the Washington Redskins also remain in the hunt for the services of the four-year veteran, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The Washington Redskins remain interested in re-signing free-agent RB Tim Hightower (knee) but it is not known how much they are willing to offer since he is still dealing with a knee injury. Hightower likely would be the starting running back if he returns.

One reason the New England Patriots might be interested in free-agent RB Tim Hightower (Redskins) (knee) is the fact he turns only 26 next month.
Fantasy Impact: Hightower could be a good fit for the offense because of his pass-catching skills.

Washington Redskins impending free-agent RB Tim Hightower (knee) said he expects to be ready for the start of the regular season but would not set a timetable for when he will be ready to practice. Hightower could be ready for the start of training camp because he has been rehabbing his torn anterior cruciate ligament for a while.

Washington Redskins RB Tim Hightower said Monday, Jan. 2, that he wants to return. However, it is likely he will need to re-sign a one-year deal since he is coming off an injury. 'It's very important, very important (to return),' Hightower said. 'I love this organization. Coming back here I didn't realize how much it would mean to me coming back, being around your family and going places with the fans. It was special for me. This is somewhere I would like to play for a long time.'
