Tight End Rank: #51 Overall: #338
Bennett had his most work as a pro last season, catching 33 passes. His previous career high was 20 receptions, which came his rookie season. Bennett didn't make many big plays with his catches last season, though, averaging just 7.9 yards per reception. He failed to top 50 yards in a single game all season. Bennett has a lot of talent and the Cowboys like his ability, but he hasn't put it all together to date. He could be challenged by John Phillips for the backup job this season. Bennett is a huge target that is very athletic. He can make big plays because of his size and speed. Bennett isn't much of a blocker, though, and his work ethic has been questioned in the past.

Bennett has some upside, but he really isn't worth using as long as he is playing second fiddle to Jason Witten. His chances will be too up and down in the Cowboys' offense. It would be intriguing to see what Bennett could do if he started, but at this point, that isn't even a given because of his competition at tight end. |

| Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten said he believes New York Giants TE Martellus Bennett will fit well in the Giants' offense this season. 'I think he fits that offense in a lot of ways,' Witten said. 'I think his confidence was probably shaken a little bit in Dallas. Few plays, his numbers were limited, so I'm sure that's a part of it. He's a good blocker, he's a good underneath route runner, he's big so he can catch the ball. I think, more than anything, getting his confidence back and getting a fresh start will do a lot for his career. Definitely a lot of upside.' |
| Fantasy Impact: We wouldn't count on Bennett breaking out but it is possible. He certainly has the talent. |
