SUMMARY
Wide Receiver Rank: #49
Overall: #156

Jones had another productive season serving as a reserve for the Packers. He topped 600 yards for the second straight season. He played every game and had a 100-yard game but also went without a reception two games. Jones was no sure thing as a reserve in an offense that likes to spread the ball around to a host of options. He did have a career-best seven touchdowns, though. Jones has at least 600 yards three of five seasons in the NFL. Jones will get his chances in the Packers' pass-first offense, but not as much as Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson. Jones has decent quickness, but runs good routes and has above-average hands. He also does well in making the tough catch, but he will drop some passes.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Jones hasn't ascended quite as expected. He still has weekly potential, but isn't likely to be a big help to fantasy teams. He'll be too inconsistent. Another season with 600 or so yards and five touchdowns seems likely for Jones unless injury hits. If that happens and he takes over a starting role, Jones will be worth a weekly play.
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones had four receptions for 50 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 16 game against the Chicago Bears. Jones came into the game with just four grabs for 46 yards and no scores over his past three games.
Fantasy Impact: Jones is worth some spot starts for fantasy teams while Greg Jennings is out.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones had just two receptions for 29 yards in Week 14 against the Oakland Raiders. Jones has just two total catches in his past two games after managing 94 yards with a score in the Thanksgiving Day game in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact: Jones is capable of that big game at any time but isn't worth using for fantasy teams because of his erratic ways.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones did not have any receptions in Week 13 against the New York Giants, and he wasn't even targeted once in the win.
Fantasy Impact: He was coming off a big game so this game was a disappointment but shouldn't have been a surprise if you consider his play this season. He has been up and down.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones caught three passes for 94 yards and one touchdown against the Detroit Lions in Week 12.
Fantasy Impact: Jones has been quiet in recent weeks but got a few more chances in this one. He remains a bit of risk with his up and down play but this game was encouraging.

Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he deserves to be on the field more often. Jones saw just 19 snaps in Week 1. 'And I want to say half of them were jumbo (three-tight ends package) run plays,' Jones said. WR Jordy Nelson received most of the snaps in the three-receiver set, which has been one of head coach Mike McCarthy's favorite personnel groups, and Nelson matched WR Greg Jennings with eight targets, catching six of them for 77 yards and a touchdown. 'You've seen the film, you know who's No. 3,' Jones said. 'Me and (Randall) Cobb, we're slash four and five.'
Fantasy Impact: You can't blame Jones for being disappointed but don't expect a big change going forward.
Jones excelled in a starting role Week 9, catching eight passes for 123 yards and a touchdown. Jones has 100-yard games two of his last three. Donald Driver has been slowed by injury, opening the door for Jones. He has a chance to continue to play a big role going forward. He provides a ton of upside for the Packers because of his big-play ability. Jones can make a lot of things happen after the catch.
With Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (thigh) out for Week 9, the team is going to rely on WRs James Jones and Jordy Nelson to step up, reports Gary D'Amato, of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Jones said the only thing that changes is they may see a little more opportunities come their direction. Jones noted that he understands how some criticize him as being inconsistent, but noted it's not completely his fault. 'Consistency comes with opportunities. If I go one week with zero balls and the next week I get four balls and the next I get two thrown my way ... I mean, it's not all my fault. I can't throw it to myself,' Jones said.
Fantasy Impact: We think Jones is worth a flier as a No. 3 receiver this week. He has some upside in a favorable matchup.
Tom Pelissero, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) said he did not have surgery on his knee. He said he took a month off, and the knee feels 100 percent.
Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 24. His status for Week 4 is uncertain.
Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR James Jones (knee) aggravated a knee sprain and was unable to finish Week 3. His status for the team's Week 4 game is in doubt.
