SUMMARY
Wide Receiver Rank: #16
Overall: #51

Marshall had his fifth straight 1,000-yard season last year. He went over 1,200 yards for the third time in his career. His reception total, 81, was the lowest of his career but still gave him five straight years of 80-plus catches. Marshall did have some quarterback issues to do with in Miami, though, which didn't help his production. Even with that said, He had five 100-yard games and at least three receptions in every game. Marshall heads to Chicago this season, reuniting with Jay Cutler, the quarterback he had his best seasons playing with. The Bears will have a more run-first approach this season but Marshall will get his chances as the top receiver in their offense. Marshall has some attitude concerns, which likely got him shipped out of Miami, but produces when on the field. He is a huge target with great hands. Marshall makes a ton of plays after the catch, which is amazing for a receiver of his size. He is tough to bring down once the ball is in his hands because of his size.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
His touchdown totals are the one thing holding Marshall back from being an elite fantasy receiver. He has double-digit scores just once and seven or fewer scores all but one season. He will have big reception and yardage totals, though, and his touchdown numbers should go up playing in a better offense. He can get 90 receptions for 1,200 yards and nine scores, making him a low-end No. 1 for fantasy teams.
Harvey Steinberg, attorney for Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall, said Marshall will not be charged for anything in connection to an altercation outside a nightclub in March.
Fantasy Impact: He should avoid any league suspension.

Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall likely will not be suspended by the NFL for his involvement in a March incident at a nightclub if the police did not file any charges against Marshall.

New York police are likely to wrap up this week their investigation into an a March nightclub incident in which Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall is alleged to have punched a woman in the face, according to league sources. Police have struggled to find evidence against Marshall, according to sources, and it's likely there will be no charges and the case will be closed.
Fantasy Impact: This is good news for Marshall, who likely gets a suspension if any chargers are filed.

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler said he does not expect WR Brandon Marshall to be suspended for his involvement in an incident in New York earlier this offseason. Marshall has been accused of striking a woman during the incident.

The Miami Dolphins would not have released WR Brandon Marshall if they did not trade him to the Chicago Bears. The team likely would have brought him in for training camp to see what his trade value would have been.

Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said WR Brandon Marshall is a perfect fit for the team because of his ability to be physical in addition to his receiving abilities. 'I thought Chicago Bear football, he would be a perfect mesh,' Smith said. 'I know what he can do catching the football. I'm talking about a big, physical presence, blocking. When I met him, right away, he (hugged me). To me, he was a perfect fit for us.' Smith thinks Marshall can play all three receiver spots but will use him initially at split end.

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said the team would have cut WR Brandon Marshall if they had not traded him to the Chicago Bears. Ross made the revelation to a season ticket holder who protested the team's offseason decisions. According to Ross, the Dolphins also could have had Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Flynn if they really wanted him; and New York Jets QB Tim Tebow was regarded as not a good fit for their offense.

Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall said he does not expect to be suspended by the NFL for his latest off field incident because things will look different once all of the details are known.
Fantasy Impact: We'll see. Nothing is ever certain with this type of situation.

Updating a previous report, the attorney for Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall posted a statement Tuesday, March 13, concerning reports of an incident which might receive an NFL review. 'On March 12, 2012 Brandon Marshall was the key note speaker at a charitable event in New York. After the event was over he, his wife and close friends attended a function at a local club. While at the function a fight broke out NOT involving Mr. Marshall or his friends. While attempting to leave to avoid the melee Mrs. Marshall was struck in the face by a thrown bottle. She suffered serious injury. While attempting to leave and take his wife to the hospital, the mayhem continued outside. Finally Mr. Marshall was able to take his wife to the hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. Mr. Marshall is hoping to assist authorities in regards to this matter.'
Fantasy Impact: They can spin it any way they want but the NFL isn't going to be happy with Marshall near the incident. He is likely going to be suspended a few games for another off the field issue.
