Quarterback Rank: #48 Overall: #270
Campbell saw his season come to an end after six games because of a broken collarbone. He was up and down in the games he played. In his five full games, Campbell had two 300-yard games but had fewer than 200 yards his other three games. Campbell did score eight touchdowns in six games, having multiple scores three games. His days of starting might be over, though, signing with the Bears this offseason. He'll serve as the top backup to Jay Cutler. Campbell is 30 years old and has plenty of starting experience. In six seasons - most as a starter - Campbell has one year with more than 20 touchdowns and two 3,000-yard seasons. Campbell has ability (strong arm, moves around well in pocket) but still turns the ball over too much and struggles with the deep ball.

Campbell is worth a few spot starts if he is the starting quarterback, but don't use him past that. But the chances of him starting this year in Chicago seem pretty slim. And even if he finds himself in a starting role for some reason, Campbell's career numbers don't suggest a sudden breakout season. |

| Oakland Raiders QB Jason Campbell (collarbone), who is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent March 13, might have plenty of suitors. He is not expected to return to the Raiders, and the Denver Broncos are unlikely to sign him. However, the market might be good for Campbell with fellow pending free agents New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and San Francisco 49ers QB Alex Smith expected to stay where they are. '(Drew) Brees is going to re-sign. So is (Alex) Smith. There's only one (QB Peyton Manning) to go around, and just one (QB Matt Flynn) out there,' one NFL executive said. 'That doesn't leave a lot. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think (Campbell) will get some interest. Maybe not a ton, but he'll have some people calling.' |
