SUMMARY
Tight End Rank: #50
Overall: #337

Shiancoe had a similar season to his last two in Minnesota last year, but the big difference was his touchdown total. He scored just two times after scoring 18 touchdowns the previous two seasons. He still produced solid reception and yardage totals, though, catching 47 passes for 530 yards. Shiancoe has at least 40 receptions for 530 yards each of the last three seasons. He is a consistent option in the Vikings' passing game, but the addition of rookie Kyle Rudolph will cut into his playing time at tight end. Shiancoe is a big target with pretty good speed and decent hands. He also is a solid blocker, which is a plus for the Vikings running game. Shiancoe had a down touchdown season last year, but as mentioned, he has been a top red-zone target past years for the offense.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
The Vikings' passing game is a concern and the arrival of Rudolph, making Shiancoe more of a risk this coming season. A rebound in touchdowns seems likely but don't expect huge totals in other areas. At this point, he is a No. 2 fantasy tight end. He'll get 30-plus receptions for 400 yards and six or so touchdowns. His value is a tad lower in PPR leagues.
The Minnesota Vikings will not re-sign free-agent TE Visanthe Shiancoe this offseason because they have added TE John Carlson to the roster.

Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe might be playing in his final game with the team in Week 17 against the Chicago Bears, as he is set to become a free agent at season's end. However, with TE Jim Kleinsasser retiring, and only TE Kyle Rudolph at the position, the team might be interested in bringing Shiancoe back.

Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe said he did not see the necessary effort from some teammates in Week 15. 'I would say, you could see some guys hung it up,' Shiancoe said. 'Not a lot though. Like a very small handful of guys.' Shiancoe said it was 'very, very disappointing' to see that happen and made it clear he wants no part of being with a team that could be the worst in franchise history.
